# Down-web: website downloader

Down-web provides a web interface for saving a public website or an individual public page into a ZIP archive. The public interface is available in Russian and English.

## How the public service works

1. The user enters a public website or page URL.
2. The service retrieves accessible HTML and related public assets.
3. Optional multi-page mode follows public internal links within configured limits.
4. The service packages the result as a ZIP archive.
5. Temporary archives remain available only for the period shown in the interface.

The service also supports retrieving available public snapshots from the Web Archive. A separate affiliate-analysis form can reproduce a user-authorized public advertising visit with user-supplied parameters and proxy settings.

## Practical limitations

JavaScript applications, authenticated content, access-controlled media, anti-bot protection, geographic restrictions, and third-party resources can prevent a complete copy. Down-web does not grant permission to copy content. Users remain responsible for copyright, privacy, access rules, and the source website's terms.

## Crawling policy

Public locale pages and their rendering assets are available to search and AI crawlers. API endpoints, uploads, temporary files, debug pages, logs, sessions, and generated archives are excluded.
